Schedule:
Riverton Music store - home school string classes (violin/viola/cello)

Beginning Class (new to playing) meets Mondays 1:30-2:45 

Year 2 Class (1+ years experience) meets Mondays 2:30-3:45 - both classes taught by Carrie Young

Syracuse Arts Academy Antelope Campus : Tues/Thur 3:20-4:10
Syracuse Arts Academy North Campus: M/W - Beginning class 7:30-8:15am; Intermediate W/F 7:30-8:15am
Ascent Academy Farmington Campus: M/W - Beginning class 
Uintah Elementary: 7:40-8:25am T/Th - Beginning class; W/F - Intermediate class
West Haven Elementary: 8:00-8:45am - T/TH All levels
Green Acres Elementary: 7:40-8:25am  T/TH Beginners; T/F Intermediate



Classes begin the first week of October and run through May
Students will get to participate in 3 concerts: December, April (for parents and friends), and May Concert Invitational at Syracuse Arts Academy Amphitheater

Cost: $175/year or pay just $35 down and $20/month (includes books)

Price does not include instrument.  Instruments available for purchase or rent through Riverton Music at Rivertonmusic.com or students can provide their own instrument (if you choose this option, please have the teacher check it for size and playability on the first day of class).

Register
Students in Beginning class will learn:
-To identify different parts of their instrument
-Correct sitting position and playing posture
-How to play several familiar and new songs
-How to read notes on the music staff
-How to create a clear, solid sound in the first few weeks
-How to listen to the group when playing (ensemble training)
-Techniques to help them sound good and feel confident
-Concert etiquette

Students in Year 2 class will learn:
-Sound techniques
-Ensemble/playing parts with a group
-Learn to play several familiar and new songs
-How to read more notes on the music staff including flats, sharps and naturals
-How to mark their music 
-New bowing techniques
What if I don't know which instrument to play?
Your child does not need to have an instrument chosen before the first day of class if he/she is still undecided.  They are welcome to come listen and have an opportunity to try them out. They can also be sized for their instrument.  If you already have an instrument, please bring it with you.  For instrument options, check our Resources tab, or come the first day and we will recommend a list of rental/purchase options, or come to our open house (see home page for details).



What to bring each week:
-Instrument
-Music stand
​-Method book and pencil

-Music folder (this will be given the first day of class) 
-Practice record for Mozart Money credit
