Returning students do not need to re-apply
Encore Youth Chamber Orchestra applicants need to:
1. Be able to play:
A- Scales - play one in quarter notes and one in eighth notes (75-80 bpm)
violins - 2 octave B flat, 2 octave D Major scale and 2 octave G Major
violas and cellos - 2 octave D Major scale, 2 octave F Major scale and 1 octave G Major (2 octaves if you can)
bass - 1 octave G Major scale, D Major scale, and 1 octave F Major scale
B- A piece of music with a group - we will do a slow number and a more upbeat piece
C- A piece you love that shows close to your ability level (please choose 16-32 measures of a piece you love that you can play well)- Can be played in front of the group or just the director.
